Wordle English on Onlinedle is the multiplayer take on the classic word puzzle. Everyone in your room races against the same hidden word, six guesses each. The first to crack it wins the round; the round ends when everyone has finished or run out of attempts.
How to play
Pick a nickname on the home page and tap "Create room".
Share the short link with friends. They join with their own nicknames.
The host (first to join) picks a length: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 letters.
Everyone guesses against the same word at the same time. Tiles colour up: green for the right letter in the right spot, yellow for the right letter in the wrong spot, grey for absent.
The first solve takes the round. Others keep trying with their remaining attempts to chip into the score gap.
Pool sizes by length
Each length draws from its own pool. 5 and 6-letter pools are the largest and feel the smoothest for daily play. 7 and 8 letters add difficulty as the pool thins out. 9 and 10-letter rounds are tightly curated and small enough that repeats can happen across long sessions.
The English pools come from an intersection of dwyl/english-words with google-10000-english, filtered for everyday vocabulary so a guess like "queen" or "spline" is in but obscure scientific words are not.
Tips and strategy
The first two guesses are reconnaissance. By the end of guess two you should have a feel for which vowels and the most common consonants (R, S, T, L, N) are in.
Move yellow letters. Don't put a yellow letter in the same slot again, or you waste an attempt.
Plurals and tense help in longer rounds. 8 and 10-letter answers commonly end in -ing, -ed, -ies, -tion.
Use letter frequency. Starter words like "stare", "raise", "cones" cover five very common letters in one shot.
Why play with friends
Solo Wordle is a small ritual. Multiplayer turns it into a tempo race. Onlinedle doesn't share each player's grid, only progress badges: who's on which guess, who solved, who's stuck. That gentle visibility creates pressure. A four-player room turns one puzzle into a ten-round tournament.
